New Development of Steel Furniture in Luoyang

On the banks of the Luo River in the heartland of China, an industrial city named after "steel" is quietly rewriting the global standards of office furniture in China. This place is neither an offshore port nor a traditional first-tier manufacturing base, yet it accounts for over 70% of the country's steel-made office furniture output. Its products cover nine major categories and over 1,000 subcategories such as filing cabinets, shelving units, steel-made office desks, and intelligent storage terminals, and are exported to 120 countries and regions.
On this industrial chain, Luoyang Muchn Steel Furniture Company, as a representative manufacturing enterprise rooted in the Pangcun industrial belt, is leveraging the "parametric quality + scenario-based delivery" dual model to seize the era benefits of the industry's shift from low-price competition to intelligent transformation.

The "Hard Parameters" Revolution of Steel Office Furniture

Steel office furniture has long left behind the "cold-rolled sheet + welding + painting" production narrative of workshops. Currently, a standard high-end production line generally uses 0.8 - 1.2mm national standard thickened cold-rolled steel plates. Through laser cutting (with a precision improvement of about 10 times compared to traditional processes), robot bending and automatic welding, the surface is uniformly switched to electrostatic powder coating technology - compared to traditional liquid paint, powder coating achieves 98% paint utilization rate, nearly zero VOC emissions, and can withstand salt spray tests for over 1000 hours. The coating adhesion and scratch resistance level (above 2H) have become key indicators for leading enterprises at the factory exit.
The more crucial aspect is the modularization of structural parameters. Take the mainstream office filing cabinets as an example: the static load-bearing capacity of a single unit ≥ 50kg, the fatigue life of the guide rails and pulleys ≥ 80,000 times (for high-end models, it's 100,000 times), and the lock cycle test exceeds 50,000 times. The intelligent filing cabinets also incorporate RFID archive tracking, temperature and humidity sensing, and dual-mode unlocking with face recognition. The adoption rate of the IoT module in high-end steel office furniture has exceeded 21%, and the individual value added has increased by 12% - 18%.

The exhibition serves as the most effective microscope for observing the transformation of steel furniture.

From February 20th to 22nd, 2026, the 5th China-LuoYang (Pangcun) Steel Furniture Expo was held in the Yibin E-commerce Intelligent Link Industrial Park with the theme of "Purchase in China - Quality Made in Yibin". Covering nearly 20,000 square meters and featuring 278 booths, the exhibition sold out within three days. More than 160 enterprises showcased over a thousand varieties of products, receiving over 40,000 visitors, and achieving a total transaction value of 860 million yuan. The collective trademark for "Pangcun Steel Furniture" was officially awarded during the exhibition, marking a transition from "product export" to "brand export" for the production area.
One month later, from March 28th to 31st, the second phase of the 57th China (Guangzhou) International Furniture Fair saw over 50 enterprises from Pengcun Village in Yibin participating as a "combined fleet". They showcased over 500 products including intelligent office cabinets, filing cabinets, safes, and home storage systems, achieving an expected transaction value of over 380 million yuan. At the exhibition site, facial recognition, remote access rights, and environmental monitoring were no longer just concepts presented in PPTs, but tangible demonstrations that buyers could interact with - overseas buyers gave clear signals to place orders for the combination of "Luoyang prices, European standards for environmental protection, and intelligent modules".
From the New Year Fair in Pang Village to the Global Home Expo in Guangzhou, the convergence of these two exhibition curves leads to a conclusion: The competitiveness formula for steel-made office furniture has been rewritten from "steel tonnage price × labor hours" to "board grade × environmental protection coating × intelligent module × delivery time".

Epilogue: The Soft Power Hidden Within Steel

For the Luoyang steel furniture company, the key word for the next stage is not "how many machines to expand", but "to provide traceable steel solutions for how many office scenarios". As global office spaces shift towards modularization, hybridization, and healthiness, the journey of a piece of Luoyang cold-rolled sheet ends up in office buildings in Stuttgart, clinics in Melbourne, shared office areas in Xi'an, and a redefined domestic steel furniture brand.
